This ministry partners with Corral Riding Academy, a faith-motivated nonprofit that equips adolescent girls in high-risk situations through a long-term, holistic program of equine therapy and education. Our support helps CORRAL provide each girl and her community with the skills, resources, and opportunities to gain access to a bright future. There are two locations for CORRAL, one in Cary and one in
Raleigh. St. Francis partners with both
farms, so please be sure to check the location when volunteering.
We support their monthly family-friendly community service days where you will have the opportunity to do some manual labor. At service days, you'll do hands-on projects to beautify the farm so that it is a safe, healing space for the participants and will have the opportunity to learn more about CORRAL's mission and programs! Signup for these opportunities using the link below. Service days at the Neuse River campus in Raleigh are on the 2nd Saturday of the month while service days at the Cary campus are on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

We also occasionally provide lunches and snacks for the program participants. You can donate supplies or volunteer to serve lunch on a Saturday. These opportunities are listed here on St. Francis Serves.
We can connect you with CORRAL if you are interested in
providing academic support through tutoring or transportation to the farm on a
regular basis. For more information
on these opportunities, please reach out to Donna Schwede.

Frequently Asked Questions about CORRAL Riding Academy
Q: What should I wear or bring to the volunteer opportunity?
A: Please come dressed in closed-toe farm shoes/boots. We also encourage you to bring work gloves and a water bottle. Much of our work will be outdoors, so layers are always a good choice!
Q: Can youth volunteer?
A: We love having kids and families out on the farm! Caregivers should register on behalf of their youth participants. Adults serving as chaperones should register themselves. We are happy to sign off on community service sheets during or after the event
